How do I get ISO 9001 certification?

Starting the process of getting ISO 9001 is as easy as contacting a certification body - such as ourselves! Contact us today for a quote (with no hidden costs).

We'll also supply you with an interactive, online platform (BAB Activ) that will make it easier for you to put together the documented evidence of your Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Preparation

The first step is to get in touch with us for a no-obligation quote. If you like the quote, all you need to do is accept the terms and decide how you want to pay. Once the first payment is received you will be given access to our range of online tools and resources to help you prepare for the Stage 1 assessment.

  • Stage 1 assessment

There’s no pressure for the first assessment; many are surprised what they already have in place following this visit. The report issued will highlight the next steps you need to take to achieve your certification.

  • Stage 2 assessment

When you’re ready, we will complete our second assessment to establish if your management systems and processes meet the requirements of the standard. You will be advised of the Auditor's recommendations on the day and these will then be ratified by our Compliance department. Once you have received a successful assessment your certification will be issued.

  • Annual Assessment

The excellent reputation of UKAS-accredited ISO standards is driven by their requirement for ongoing improvement, so we will keep in touch and arrange annual assessments to keep your certification up-to-date.

How long does it take to get ISO 9001 certification?

How long it takes to achieve ISO 9001 depends on many factors. The process can take just a matter of weeks for some, and some months for others; it all depends on the organisation, how prepared they are, and how much resources they can commit to the process.

If you have a designated representative who takes responsibility for your certification within your organisation, this can help the certification process. And it will take less time to achieve your certification if you’ve made preparations in advance!

Do I need an ISO 9001 consultant?

It isn’t necessary to hire a consultant. Our expert auditors will help you to identify any areas in your Quality Management System that might need improvement before your final assessment. We’ll also support you by giving you access to our online, interactive platform that provides generic templates to help you set up the processes needed for ISO 9001. Should you find that you need additional support by way of consultancy we can also provide you with a list of consultants we recommend to help you complete the work (while we can provide a range of tools, templates and guidance we are required by UKAS rules not to provide the consultancy ourselves).
